Deputy Registrars

By virtue of section 73 of the Supreme Court of Judicature Act, Cap. 117A, the Registrar is responsible for the administration of the several departments or sections of the Supreme Court and of the Registration Office and shall be assisted by the Deputy and Assistant Registrars and such other officers as are necessary for the purpose of carrying out the Registrar’s functions under the Act and the several enactments vesting duties, authority and responsibility in the Registrar.

The Registrar is currently assisted by two Deputy Registrars and one Assistant Registrar. For convenience, one Deputy is assigned to the Court of Appeal, while the other is assigned to the High Court.  Notwithstanding their respective assignments, and with the exception of the issuing of Apostille certificates, both Deputies are responsible for carrying out the Registrar’s functions and exercising any of the powers and authorities of the Registrar under the Supreme Court of Judicature Act, Cap. 117A as provided by section 3 of the Registration Office Act Cap. 33.
